The Steinbachgut is a lovely farm on the outskirts of Flachau in a great location: just 900 m from the piste, the Tauern Trail and cycle path on the doorstep, the bus stop for the ski and wanderbus right in front of the farm and yet in a secluded location surround by meadows. 
 

Flachau itself is located in the district of  St. Johann im Pongau in the Province of Salzburg. Well into the 19th century the resort was  a centre for iron smelting, nowadays only place names and house names are a reminder of bygone days. The community with its 2675 inhabitants has dedicated itself to alpine tourism. The colourful range of leisure activities and events in the resort and the genuine friendliness of the locals guarantee a successful summer or winter holiday: in winter an eldorado for skiers in the heart of the Ski Amadé and in summer  a fantastic  hiking region and holiday paradise for families.

Flachau is also home to Austria's sporting figureheads Hermann Maier and snowboarder Manuela Riegler. We're very proud of both of them.
