Tauern Trail Flachau - Province of Salzburg

The 50 km long Tauern trail combines the eight most attractive ski resorts in the the Salzburger Sportwelt via a unique trail from in front of the door.

The Steinbachgut lies right on the Tauern Trail! As the cross country trails in Flachau are connected to the Tauern Trail, you have access to one of the longest continuous trails in the Province.  The 50 km long Tauern trail connects the eight resorts of the Salzburger Sportwelt - St. Johann-Alpendorf, Flachau, Wagrain, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Kleinarl, Eben, Filzmoos and Untertauern - and promises an interesting journey on two narrow boards through the alpine landscape and traditional mountain resorts. 

In Flachau and the surrounding area a total of 220 km of well-groomed trails  for classic cross country skiing and skating are available. Along the high plateau in the heart of the Salzburger Sportwelt beginners as well as experts can enjoy cross country skiing.
If you have no experience of cross country skiing seven professional ski schools are available in resort. After a trial lesson or course you can explore the extensive network of trails and improve your style.
